You can use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10 on your Intel-based Mac.
And obviously you'll need a copy/license of Solidworks. But honestly if you've waited until the last minute to get this up and running to do your homework, you should just borrow someone elses computer! Installing this on a mac is not a quick process. Obviously you should back up your mac hard drive before doing anything.
Use Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp And regarding your other question According to the official requirements, A 32-bit processor must have minimum 16 GB for installation and for a 64-bit processor must have minimum 20 GB for installation of Windows 10. Windows 10 is being delivered as a service, so apps built into the OS and updates will use up space over time. Windows 10 requires a minimum of 16 GB (32 bit) 20 GBs (64 bit) of space to facilitate the installation. Windows 10 uses about 9 GB of space on disk. At this point, you can proceed to the next section to format your Mac Backup partition. But it’s a good idea to also create a third partition on your disk that both macOS and Windows 10 can use. Newer Mac computers use a streamlined method to install Windows on your Mac. What you need
The keyboard and mouse or trackpad that came with your Mac. If they aren’t available, use a USB keyboard and mouse.
A full-installation, 64-bit version of Windows 10 on a disk image (ISO file) or other installation media.
You can download a Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File) from Microsoft.

Before you begin
Before you install Windows, make sure you back up important files.
You can use Time Machine or any other method to back up your files. For information about backing up files, see Back up your files with Time Machine and Ways to back up or protect your files.
Perform the installation
On your Mac, do the following steps in order.
Step 1: Check for software updates
Before you install Windows, install all macOS updates.
On your Mac, log in as an administrator, quit all open apps, then log out any other users.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Software Update, then install all available macOS updates.
If your Mac restarts after installing an update, open Software Update again to install any additional updates.
Step 2: Prepare your Mac for Windows
Boot Camp Assistant prepares your Mac by creating a new partition for Windows named BOOTCAMP and downloading the Boot Camp support software.
Important: If you’re using a Mac notebook computer, connect it to a power source before continuing.
On your Mac, open Boot Camp Assistant , located in /Applications/Utilities.
At the Introduction screen, click Continue.
The system is checked for total available disk space. Older Time Machine snapshots and cached iCloud files are removed to make space for Boot Camp. This process may take a long time to complete (you can click the Stop button to skip this process).
If you have only one internal disk, choose the Windows ISO image, specify the partition size by dragging the divider between the macOS and Windows partitions, then click Install.
If you have multiple internal disks, follow the onscreen instructions to select and format the disk you want to install Windows on and to choose the Windows ISO image.
If you select your startup disk: You can create an additional partition for Windows. Specify the partition size by dragging the divider between the macOS and Windows partitions.
If you select an APFS-formatted disk: You can either create an additional partition on the disk for Windows, or erase the entire disk and create a partition for Windows. If you choose to create an additional partition, specify the partition size by dragging the divider between the macOS and Windows partitions.
If you select a non-APFS-formatted disk: You can erase the entire disk and create a partition for Windows.
If Boot Camp is already present on the disk you select, you also have the option to uninstall it.
Important: You can’t resize the partition later.
When this step is complete, the Windows installer starts.
Step 3: Install Windows
In the Windows installer, follow the onscreen instructions.
When the installation is finished, your Mac automatically restarts using Windows.
Follow the onscreen instructions to set up Windows.
Step 4: Install Boot Camp on Windows
After installing Windows, Boot Camp drivers that support your Mac hardware start installing.
Note: If the support software doesn’t install automatically, you need to install it manually. For instructions, see the Apple Support article If the Boot Camp installer doesn't open after using Boot Camp Assistant.
In the Boot Camp installer in Windows, follow the onscreen instructions.
Important: Do not click the Cancel button in any of the installer dialogs.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
You don’t need to respond to installer dialogs that appear only briefly during installation, but if a dialog asks you to install device software, click Install.
If nothing appears to be happening, there may be a hidden window that you must respond to. Look behind open windows.
When the installation is complete, click Finish.
After your Mac restarts, follow the instructions for any other installers that appear.
As the main disk, C Drive is mainly used for storing system files, programs, temporary files, etc. However, many people have no idea about how much space these files take up and how much space should be allocated for C Drive on Windows 10. In this post, we will talk about the problems above and give you some advice.
Space for C drive:
1. Recommended Space For System Files (30GB – 50GB)
A system file is a crucial computer file which helps Windows 10 operate correctly. These files may come as part of the operating system, a third-party device driver or other sources. According to Microsoft’s official announcement, the minimum hard drive requirements for Windows 10 are 16 GB (32-bit) and 20 GB (64-bit). What’s more, Windows 10 will reserve about 7 GB of storage to facilitate proper performance and successful updates of your device.

As a result, it is recommended that we allocate 30 – 50 GB of space on C Drive for the operating system and its related files.
2. Recommended Space for Program Files (30GB)
It is up to you to decide whether the programs are installed on C Drive or not. Though most programs are installed on C Drive by default, it would be better to install programs on other drives, which can make your device run more smoothly. We recommend you to allocate about 30 GB of space to install some frequently-used programs on C Drive.
3. Recommended Space for Hibernation File (8GB – 32GB)

Hibernation file (hiberfil.sys) is a file created by the operating system when the computer goes into Hibernation Mode. The computer can maintain the current system state in this mode and this file is used when the computer is turned back on. If you don’t employ this feature, you can disable it and delete the file, whose size is as large as your physical memory size.

4. Recommended Space for Virtual Memory (12GB – 40GB)
In addition, Virtual memory (pagefile.sys) is a gigantic file used to manage virtual memory. In most cases, virtual memory is recommended to be 1.5 to 3 times the size of physical memory. Although the system automatically sets the virtual memory size for you, you can still set it by yourself like the picture below.
5. Space for Temporary Files (10GB)
Temporary files are generated on C Drive by default while you are running any programs, browsing web pages, etc. But you can modify the path as you like and clean up these files without affecting computer operation. These files only take up about 10 GB of C Drive space or even less if they are cleaned up regularly.

6. 10%-20% Free Space of C Drive is Beneficial for Windows
Besides the large files mentioned above, there are also different kinds of small files, such as the files put on the desktop which are stored on the C Drive. In addition, it is essential to remain 10%-20% free space for C Drive to ensure the stable operation of the system.

In fact, the appropriate storage of C Drive depends on various factors. For example, the storage capacity of your hard disk drive (HDD) and whether your program is installed on the C Drive or not. If you are not familiar with disk partition and storage, it is recommended that more space be allocated to the C Drive to avoid the situation of running out of storage.
