Thred: BMW Flashing/Programming using BMW ISTA with PsdZData Full. Environment/Setup I have set up ISTAD and ISTAP within Oracle VirtualBox virtual machine. Windows 7 x64 Enterprise with SP1 ISTAD v4.3.21 ISTAP v3.60.2 PsdZData v60.1 Full BMW ICOM A2 Clone. Using my girlfriend’s loaner F25 X3 28i as a power supply in order to keep voltage between 14.0 and 14.9. Latest BMW E-SYS 3.29.0 F-series coding software released here! Here you can download BMW ESYS 3.29.0 + ESYS Launcher Premium 2.7.1 + Psdzdata V3.61.5 Lite for BMW coding! Compatible with BMW ENET Cable and ICOM.

I have read that BMW will stop support F and G series from Ista P.
Is there somewhere a good tutorial how to install the new ISTA+ with all programming data included.
There are a lot of different software SPD delta, etc etc. How to install and which files to use

Here you go…
First you need ICOM to get ISTA+ programming to work. Yes, you can have tested ISTA+ download from cardiagtool.co.uk or use the psdzdata FULL from @Shawn which is an easier route for *you* than using the sdp deltas and ISTA Launcher Console.

Instructions:

1- rename C:RheingoldPSdZdatapsdzdata to psdzdata.orig

2- extract psdzdata FULL in C:RheingoldPSdZdata, browse to C:RheingoldPSdZdatapsdzdatasweswfl and check that there is lots of files…

3- you need to enter those two registry entries for x64 OS:

PS: if you can’t read faults with ISTA, your installations has some issues.

Note:

I don’t use ISTA programming as I don’t have ICOM.

I only use Esys/ENET for flashing/programming. Pretty powerful and lets you do stuff that ISTA will never do (like flash GTS DCT software for non GTS M4)

Here are two different entries to point to psdz.

1) BMW.Rheingold.Programming.PsdzDataPath”=”C:RheingoldPSdZdata

is all that is included in Diagnosis-only ISTA+

2) BMW.Rheingold.Programming.PsdzDataPath”=”C:RheingoldPSdZdata_swi

is what is needed for programming Fxx/Ixx/Gxx-series with ICOM (ie SDP). But, you could change to whatever you want in registry.

Esys 3.33.4 Launch Pro 3.4.0 review:

I can confirm this new launcher is working perfectly with Windows 10 Pro 1903. 64 bit.

…for me in WIN 10 loading BDC_CAFD for editing is in newest ESYS and Launcher Pro also very slow
Not work for me. I have error.
On my PC is also very slow. This is especially true of the G-series. Win 10 pro 1809
The Launcher Pro starts up perfectly with every version of E-sys , but when i go to FDL-Editor and open a CAFD file its takes more then 2 a 3 minutes before it opens the file.

And ones it even took almost 5 minutes to open a file, everything else is working fine i can code perfectly.

What can be causing this problem , before i never had this Cafd files wher opening fast with the FDL editor.

Going back to the previus version to see if the problem still exist.

I also have long loading times in the FDL-Editor
I have no problems and no messages. Everything always runs well

Conclusion:

The newest Esys 3.33.4 and Launch Pro 3.4.0 cannot work for you.. Most pp cannot get good tech support when the have issues. The only way to go is forums.

To use with relief, Esys 3.23.4 is the best. Professionals have tested for thounsands of time for BMW F series coding with an ENET cable.
